Daniel P. McCollom practices in the areas of Tax and Pension Benefits, Estates and Trusts, Corporations and other Business Organizations, and Financial Institutions and Commercial Transactions. His practice is focused on advising clients regarding the tax aspects of their business transactions. He counsels clients on structuring all types of business entities including corporations, limited liability companies, business trusts and partnerships. Mr. McCollom also structures qualified and non-qualified retirement plans and other fringe benefit plans for business owners as a means of reducing their tax liabilities. He has represented numerous clients in audits and with the Internal Revenue Service and the United States Department of Labor, as well as state and local administrative agencies. Developing strategies to significantly reduce state corporate income taxes is a major part of Mr. McCollom's practice. He routinely structures Delaware holding companies to minimize these taxes.
Mr. McCollom was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey in 1958, and admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1983 and the Delaware Bar in 1986. He received his B.A. degree from Franklin & Marshall College and his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he served as a Staff Member and as Business Editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Mr. McCollom is a member of the Pennsylvania, Delaware and American Bar Associations.
