Stephen M. Miller is involved in three practice areas: Bankruptcy and Reorganization, Corporations and Other Business Organizations, and Financial Institutions and Commercial Transactions. Mr. Miller is chair of the firm's Bankruptcy and Reorganization Group and focuses his practice on bankruptcy and business transactions.

In bankruptcy matters, Mr. Miller represents purchasers; trustees; creditors' committees; and secured and unsecured creditors, including landlords, equipment lessors, financial institutions (including DIP lenders) and vendors, in large, complex Chapter 11 reorganizations. Delaware Today magazine named him one of Delaware's Top Lawyers in the area of Business Bankruptcy. Mr. Miller is also listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business (2004 and 2006) as one of the leading individuals in Delaware for bankruptcy/restructuring. Mr. Miller has received an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell for his legal abilities and professional ethics.

In transactional matters, Mr. Miller's practice includes financing, franchising and the use of Delaware business entities, including limited liability companies and limited partnerships. Mr. Miller often serves as Delaware counsel in domestic and international business transactions. His practice frequently includes rendering third-party legal opinions as to matters of Delaware state law and United States federal law.

Mr. Miller has been a speaker at seminars on topics including bankruptcy, Delaware business entities, and franchising. He is also the co-author of "Delaware Limited Liability Company Practice Guide," State Limited Liability Company & Partnership Laws, Aspen Law & Business.

Mr. Miller received a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware in 1982 and a J.D. degree with honors from George Washington University Law School in 1987. Mr. Miller is admitted to practice law in Delaware and Pennsylvania and is a member of the American and Delaware Bar Associations, along with the American Bankruptcy Institute.
