Richard Galperin is the senior member of the Firm's Professional Liability Litigation Practice Group, where he specializes in representing physicians and other providers of health care in defense of medical malpractice claims. These institutions include the Christiana Care Health System, which operates the two largest hospitals in the State of Delaware. Mr. Galperin has been a practicing trial lawyer for more than 25 years, exclusively handling medical malpractice cases for the past 15 years. He has tried more than 50 cases to verdict.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware in 1949, Mr. Galperin was admitted to the Delaware State Bar in 1976. He received a B.A. in 1971 from the University of Delaware, and a J.D. in 1975 from Villanova University School of Law. Mr. Galperin is a former Assistant City Solicitor, Criminal Division, Wilmington, Delaware (1976-77), and the Secretary of the Defense Counsel of Delaware (1989-90) of which he remains a member. He is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is a member of the Delaware State and American Bar Associations. He frequently speaks to health care providers on avoidance of medical malpractice.
