08.04.2011 The Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware, Inc. has elected Lewis Lazarus to serve on the state board. Boys and Girls' Clubs' mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those most in need, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. It serves 32,000 Delaware youth annually or about one in five school-aged children in Delaware. Nationwide, 87% of Club kids graduate from high school, compared to the national average of 66%. 25% of Club kids graduate from college, compared to the national average of 16%. Police reports indicate that juvenile crime drops as much as 64% when a new club opens. Mr. Lazarus stated that he was "honored to have the opportunity to contribute to an organization that does so much for Delaware youth."
