Jim McMackin to Serve as Chair of the DSBA Labor and Employment Section

Morris James is pleased to announce that Jim McMackin has been named Chair of the Delaware State Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Section.

In his employment, education and governmental relations law practice, Jim primarily appears before members of the Delaware court, arbitrators and administrative bodies. He frequently counsels and represents clients on matters involving enforcement of non-compete agreements, defending clients in suits alleging discrimination and retaliation, and enforcing and defending contractual obligations. In addition to litigation, Jim frequently counsels clients concerning contractual rights and obligations, and compliance with education laws, wage and hour laws, prevailing HR requirements, hiring and termination. He also regularly represents clients before various administrative bodies, including the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, the State Board of Education and the Delaware Division of Industrial Affairs

Jim is a frequent guest on seminar panels and presenter on topics concerning employment and education law. He recently presented the Family Medical Leave Act Regulations at the Labor and Employment Update: Outlook and Projections for 2009 and Beyond.

The purpose of the Labor & Employment Law Section is to provide information, support, and guidance to practitioners of labor and employment law from both the employee/union perspective and the management/employer perspective, with a particular focus on providing regular updates on developments in labor and employment law.
