Courtney R. Hamilton is a member of the firm’s Professional Liability Litigation Practice Group and Healthcare Industry Team. She represents hospitals, physicians, nursing homes, and other providers of healthcare in medical malpractice claims across all medical concentrations. She also represents doctors in administrative proceedings on licensing and other medical-legal issues. Courtney has a Joint Certificate in Law and Anatomy from Temple University Beasley School of Law and School of Medicine. 

Prior to joining the Professional Liability Litigation Practice Group, Courtney previously gained litigation experience in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights and Business Litigation groups.


  • Drafting and responding to motions, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, motions to compel, motions to preclude, and other motions in limine
  • Interviewing and preparing clients, experts, and witnesses for depositions and trial
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Conducting witness examinations in trial

Dickenson v. Sopa

Drafted motion for summary judgment, which was granted by the Delaware Superior Court, and drafted response brief in Delaware Supreme Court.  Summary judgment was affirmed by the Supreme Court the day following oral argument.
