Marketing & Business Development Coordinator

Morris James LLP has an immediate opening for a Marketing & Business Development Coordinator to work alongside the firm's Director of Client Relations.

This position supports a wide range of growth initiatives across the firm related to marketing, communications, business development, and client relations. The coordinator oversees the day-to-day tasks of the marketing department and proposes creative ideas to execute on strategies that contribute to the firm's goals.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM with 60 minutes for lunch and overtime, as needed. This position offers flexibility to work a hybrid schedule of onsite and remote. 

Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Ideal Candidate

The position requires a proactive individual with the ability to prioritize under tight deadlines. The candidate will possess proven oral and written communication skills, as well as analytical and interpersonal skills. Previous legal or professional service marketing experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or English is preferred. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Oversees day-to day tasks of the Marketing & Business Development Department and the firm's practice groups
  • Supports attorneys and practice groups in the execution of business plans
  • Drafts, edits and publishes press releases, web content and blogs
  • Drives social media campaigns to highlight practices in key markets
  • Graphic design for ads & other communications
  • Shoots, edits and publishes video
  • Manages firm sponsorships and client events
  • Performs basic market research
  • Prepares presentation materials, newsletters and alerts
  • Identifies collaboration opportunities among groups
  • Creates, updates and maintains firm databases
  • Assists attorneys in preparing for conferences
  • Administers integral processes related to the departmental budget and finances, including check requests, reimbursements, and vendor payments
  • Coordinates the selections and procurement of promotional items and manages inventory
  • Assists in coaching lawyers and professional staff on networking, including the use of LinkedIn and other available marketing related tools

Skills/Qualifications Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Adobe Design and Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Ability to organize and prioritize projects/tasks simultaneously and complete them under time constraints to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge Adobe Suite; Design sample required
  • Proven oral and written communication skills; Writing sample required
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization tactics and associated tasks
  • Social media expertise
  • Up-to-date on current marketing technology
  • Familiarity with legal and marketing research
  • Ability or willingness to understand the legal business environment
  • Ability to work as a team member as well as individually with little to no supervision
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidential information
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or English major is preferred
  • Previous legal marketing or professional service firm experience is a plus
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as necessary with occasional travel to satellite offices or off-site events
  • May be able to retrieve and distribute files, documents, or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
