On August 31, 2016, Morris James partner, Chuck Kunz, successfully completed his certification exam as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US). The exam is administered by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and tests knowledge of privacy and information government laws and practices involving, for example, state and federal privacy laws, such as HIPAA/HITECH, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) among others. The exam also covers various state information privacy and data breach notification laws, U.S. federal regulation of information sharing and marketing limitations, including Do Not Call, CAN-SPAM and the Junk Fax Prevention Act (JFPA), as well as employment-related privacy laws, background screening, employee testing, workplace monitoring, employee investigation and termination of employment.
