Gwen DelCoglin is a paralegal in the firm’s Tax, Estates and Business Practice. Gwen has over 30 years’ experience in tax-related areas of law such as business formation, estate planning and administration, and succession planning. She supports attorneys preparing for and closing business and commercial transactions, including related due diligence. Gwen also operates an entity that serves as intermediary to facilitate like-kind exchanges under Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code. With a comprehensive knowledge of the Delaware General Corporation Law and the Limited Liability Company Act, Gwen is regularly involved in forming and dissolving Delaware entities, handling various filings with the Delaware Secretary of State, and qualifying Delaware entities in other jurisdictions. She also supports attorneys with matters involving the Internal Revenue Service, including obtaining Employer Identification Numbers for newly formed entities and trusts and estates. Gwen handles the probate process of estates in Delaware’s three counties and ancillary probate in other states. Her broad knowledge of probate procedures extends to the E-filing process and requirements for File & ServeXpress used by the Office of the Register of Wills.
