Overview
As the senior member of the firm’s Professional Liability Litigation Practice Group, Richard Galperin specializes in representing hospitals, physicians and other providers of healthcare. Over the course of more than four decades as a practicing trial lawyer, Rich has tried more than 130 cases to jury verdict; almost all of them multi-day medical negligence cases. He also represents all levels of medical professionals in administrative hearings on licensing, credentialing, and other medical-legal issues.
He defends individuals and institutions in medical malpractice claims involving all medical specialties. One of the most experienced medical malpractice attorneys practicing in Delaware, Rich is longtime trial counsel to Christiana Care Health Services, which operates the two largest hospitals in the State.
"Actually trying civil cases before a jury is becoming a rare event. Trying multiple cases before a jury is even less frequent. For a trial attorney, there is no substitute for experience. "
When Rich is not in the courtroom on behalf of clients, he frequently speaks to healthcare providers and lawyers on medical malpractice.
