Her practice is focused on representing directors, officers, general corporations, LLCs, and other Delaware business entities in corporate fiduciary and governance litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery.
Before joining Morris James, Melissa was a corporate litigator at a highly-regarded Delaware firm, representing clients in both the Delaware Court of Chancery and the Delaware Supreme Court, as well as in federal and state courts nationwide.
She earned her J.D. from Washington and Lee University. While in law school, Melissa served as judicial extern to former Vice Chancellor Joseph R. Slights III of the Delaware Court of Chancery.
Melissa has an extensive record of community service. She is currently a Member and Secretary of the Board of Trustees for Northern Children’s Services and has served as a Guardian Ad Litem for the Office of the Child Advocate. She has also represented victims of abuse through Delaware Volunteer Legal Services.
