Wilson Gualpa will serve as a panelist for an upcoming Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program focused on ethical obligations under the Delaware Lawyers Rules of Professional Conduct (DLRPC).

Hosted by the Office of Defense Services, this program will take place on April 24, 2026, from 1–2:30 PM at the Wilmington University School of Law and will provide a comprehensive overview of a Delaware lawyer's ethical responsibilities. Panelists will discuss the duty of candor required during a Character and Fitness review, as governed by Delaware Supreme Court Rule 52 and Board of Bar Examiners Rule 7, emphasizing the obligations a law student and applicant to the bar has to “make full, detailed and accurate responses and disclosures in all phases and aspects of the Application and admission process.” The discussion will also address how law students and applicants can navigate potential character and fitness issues to maintain compliance with these standards.

Consistent with Rule 8.1 of the DLRPC, the program will further emphasize that this duty continues until admission. Exploring key professional responsibilities under Rules 1.1 and 1.3, the panel will focus on competence and diligence, and how new attorneys can effectively develop and maintain these core obligations in practice. The program will further examine the duty of candor to the tribunal under Rule 3.4.

A portion of the discussion will be dedicated to current “hot topics” in legal ethics, including the evolving role of artificial intelligence in legal practice. Panelists will delve into ethical considerations, risks, and best practices for attorneys integrating this evolving technology into their practice.

The CLE will also offer practical guidance for attorneys in private practice, particularly solo and small firm practitioners, providing a roadmap for maintaining compliance while managing a successful practice. Finally, the program will include an overview of the Office of Disciplinary Counsel and its procedures.

Wilson's participation reflects Morris James' standard of excellence in the ethical practice of law and leadership in education.

The program will discuss the interplay of these rules and how to attain competency as a new member of the bar.
