Morris James was recently recognized by the Combined Campaign for Justice (CCJ) for achieving over 50% attorney participation in support of access to legal services in Delaware. Partner Lewis Lazarus accepted the award on behalf of the firm and acknowledged the leadership of Eric Monzo, Alyssa Meldrum, and Rob Gibbs, whose commitment helped make this possible.

The CCJ unites Delaware’s legal community to support three nonprofit legal aid organizations—Delaware Volunteer Legal Services, Legal Services Corporation of Delaware, and Community Legal Aid Society (CLASI)—ensuring that vulnerable individuals and families have access to critical civil legal assistance.

The event included a powerful reminder of why this effort matters: a widow in her seventies, unable to reach her landlord about moving from a third-floor apartment despite serious mobility issues, was relocated within a month thanks to legal assistance from CLASI. This support was made possible through contributions from individuals and firms across the state—including ours.

Participation in efforts like the CCJ isn’t just a reflection of our values—it’s a direct investment in the fairness and strength of our justice system.

At Morris James, we remain focused on using our resources, influence, and commitment to help ensure that justice is accessible to all Delawareans.
