Morris James is proud to announce that Best Lawyers of America has named Nick Caggiano, Matt Fogg, and Gretchen Knight as the “Lawyer of the Year” for 2027 in their respective Delaware practices.
The individuals honored as “Lawyer of the Year” have received particularly high ratings from other leading attorneys for their professionalism, acumen, and integrity. Each designated metropolitan and practice area only awards one individual its “Lawyer of the Year” designation.
Nick Caggiano is a Partner in Morris James’ Finance practice group, handling transactions for a wide range of clients. Nick advises clients on structuring Delaware corporations, limited liability companies, statutory trusts and other alternative entities to achieve strategic goals, from small business start-ups to complex commercial transactions. He guides clients in forming and dissolving entities, structuring transactions, drafting and negotiating contracts, and providing Delaware legal opinions to support their closings.
Matt Fogg is a Partner in Morris James’ Personal Injury group and co-chair of our Mass Tort practice. He handles complex catastrophic injury cases and is a frequent speaker on Delaware workers’ compensation and personal injury law. Licensed to practice before all Delaware state courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, and the Supreme Court of the United States, Matt represents clients through every stage of litigation, including proceedings before the Delaware Industrial Accident Board.
Gretchen Knight chairs Morris James’ Family Law practice. With more than 30 years of experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice, harnessing her legal insight and resources to allow her clients to move forward with dignity and confidence. Gretchen has built an outstanding reputation for her transactional work, which involves developing contracts and agreements, including separation agreements, pre/post-marital agreements, and domestic partnership settlements.
