Jennifer Lucas-Ross Speaks on AI’s Role in Lawyer Development
12.05.25
Jennifer Lucas-Ross, Director of Attorney Recruiting and Professional Development at Morris James, speaks at the NALP Professional Development Institute on December 5, 2025. Her session, Brainstorming with AI in Small Law: Brainstorming and Use Cases for Professional Development, is developed in collaboration with NALP’s Small and Mid-Sized Law Firm Group and focuses on how generative AI is reshaping professional development in firms with leaner teams and diverse practice demands.
The session addresses the distinct challenges and opportunities small and mid-sized firms face as AI becomes integrated into training programs and everyday PD operations. Through practical demonstrations, collaborative problem-solving, and discussion of real-world use cases, the panel explores how AI can strengthen lawyer training, streamline PD workflows, and expand the reach and impact of PD professionals.
Jennifer joins fellow speakers Ian Nelson, Co-Founder of Hotshot Inc., and Jessica Vanto, Director of Professional Development at Seward & Kissel LLP. Together, they offer strategies PD teams can adopt immediately to build more efficient, responsive, and innovative development programs within their own firm contexts.
As one of the inaugural co-chairs of NALP’s newly formed Small & Mid-Sized Employer Interest Group, Jennifer also helps shape national conversations around how smaller employers develop talent and build sustainable PD infrastructure. Her leadership at Morris James and within the broader PD community reflects a commitment to practical innovation and to elevating the tools and approaches that help attorneys grow.
