The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 - A Business Perspective Presentation on February 13th
Presented by Bruce Tigani, Mark Olson and Jim Gallagher of our Tax Estates & Business Practice together with Jordon Rosen of Belfint Lyons
The passage and enactment of the federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 in December received a large amount of news coverage. As was made clear in much of the reporting, the full tax reform act was voluminous. Its scope was broad, yet it was lacking in guiding principles that allowed for easy classification of the various reforms enacted. Furthermore, the legislative process culminating in its enactment was carried out expeditiously, with many pertinent provisions not available to the public until they were passed. As a result, much of the guidance that was broadly circulated so far was quite perfunctory, or perhaps dealt in detail only on issues that had to be addressed by taxpayers before the end of 2017.
To examine the new tax law and highlight for you the planning opportunities now available, Morris James will host a series of client seminars to review changes, discuss new planning techniques and field questions. The first seminar is offered in two alternate sessions and will focus on tax planning for clients with one or more business, professional practice or investment entities.
These sessions will be presented by Bruce Tigani, Mark Olson and Jim Gallagher of our Tax, Estates & Business Practice, together with Jordon Rosen, CPA, AEP® of the regional accounting firm of Belfint Lyons & Shuman.
