Morris James LLP seeks a Legal Assistant for its Georgetown office located at 107 W. Market St. Applicant should ideally have 1 year experience & must be a detail-oriented self-starter who can support two attorneys whose practice focuses in both litigation and commercial/transactional law. This position requires a candidate to possess excellent computer, interpersonal, organizational, and communication (written and oral) skills. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and proficient word processing skills is essential.
The hours for this position are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm., Monday-Friday, with some occasional overtime. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Salary commensurate with experience.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
*Provide clerical support (includes answering telephone calls and assisting with response to emails, generating correspondence and legal documents, editing, proof-reading, printing, scanning, and filing documents)
*Enter attorneys’ time and process billing (Familiarity with Aderant Expert is a plus)
*Properly file documents into electronic management system
*Schedule/calendar appointments and reservations in Outlook, including making travel arrangements
*Prepare conflict of interest requests
*Meet with clients and manage all client files with discretion and confidentiality
*Proficient in Microsoft Office and possess strong word processing skills
*Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to professionally interact with a diverse group of attorneys, staff, clients, out-of-state-counsel, opposing counsel, and Court personnel by email, telephone, and in person
*Strong customer-service-oriented approach and positive, professional attitude
*Ability to use discretion and maintain confidential information
*Ability to exercise initiative and good judgement to work independently as appropriate and as a member of a team
*Ability to organize/prioritize and complete numerous projects/tasks simultaneously and accurately
*Minimum of 1 year experience as a Legal Assistant
*Litigation & e-filing (LexisNexis & CM/ECF) experience in a variety of Delaware courts is a plus
*Must be computer literate with strong working knowledge of Microsoft 2016 products
*Flexibility to work overtime on an as-needed basis to meet deadlines
*Familiarity with File Site/Imanage or similar document management system is helpful

IT TECHNICAL TRAINER
Morris James LLP has an opening for an IT Technical Trainer in their Wilmington office located at 500 Delaware Ave. The Technical Trainer works under the direction of the Chief Information Officer to recommend, design and conduct in-house training programs for the attorneys and staff within its eight offices and multiple practice groups. The trainer provides classroom and individual training sessions to ensure the firm’s personnel comprehend the necessary software technology applications and systems to operate the core functions of their jobs.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated person who possesses a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and has a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a trainer, ideally in a legal or professional services firm. This position requires a candidate possess excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and presentation skills to effectively work with and support a diverse group of personnel. Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products is essential. Experience using learning management systems and document management systems is preferred.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to the following:
*Design, coordinate, and deliver end-user training on all firm software for current and newly hired attorneys and staff.
*Anticipate and determine the training needs for effective utilization of all software applications within the firm.
*Provide follow-up training as needed.
*Confer with key practice group personnel to determine additional training needs; create and direct specific training curriculum.
*Develop and maintain training procedures along with creating training materials, course handouts, and online learning modules.
*Define appropriate instructional methods such as group instruction, individual training, self-study, and computer based training.
*Provide daily assistance to all end-users via telephone/in-person contact, or remote control over end-users’ computer when necessary.
*Maintain firm-wide training schedules.
*Motivate participants attending training sessions and adapt training style to meet the needs of the participants.
*Help end-users troubleshoot issues they encounter while using the software and provide actionable tips to resolve the problem.
*Travel to satellite offices to provide training sessions or assistance as needed.
*Collaborate with other IT members and end-users to test and evaluate new software products/tools.
*Identify end-user performance gaps, determine best practices for software use and recommend optimal training delivery method and implementation schedule.
*Provide time-entry training.
*Contribute training tips via email or on the firm’s newsletter.
*Other duties as assigned by Chief Information Officer.

*Ability to comfortably present complex subject matter in understandable terms to end-users with different levels of computer experience and software familiarity.
*Training experience in legal-specific software packages is helpful.
