Morris James Condemns Racial Injustice

News & Media Mentions

March 31, 2021

Last summer, we stood with the Black community after the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and so many others. Violence that makes any member of our community feel unsafe strikes at the heart of the rule of law.

At Morris James, we are in solidarity with any person made to feel inferior through oppression, violence, racism, or xenophobia.

Today, we stand with members of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, who are facing an alarming escalation in xenophobia and bigotry. You are not alone.

The brutal killing of George Floyd is but the most recent of a long series of racial violence as old as the nation itself. The death of George Floyd followed the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor and too many other senseless killings show that Black Americans continue to die because of the color of their skin. Morris James stands united in condemning these acts of racial violence and systemic injustice.

Recent events demonstrate that words are not enough; action must follow. As a firm, we are examining what we can do to assist most effectively, either by way of collaboration with other groups or by acting on our own. We support the DSBA’s Multicultural Judges and Lawyers Section's statement, currently chaired by our Associate Wilson Gualpa.

We understand that there is yet more to do. We stand with all those who recognize that we cannot ignore this moment.
