Morris James was pleased to sponsor the LACC's Fiesta Latina community event held on Saturday, October 9. Funds raised during the event will support the LACC's early development center and youth development center’s Education Expansion Project for the community. Through this project, the LACC will build a new 2.5 story Infant and Toddler Center on the corner of 4th and Van Buren Streets as well as an Outdoor Playground for school age children on the corner of 4th and Harrison Streets.
The Latin American Community Center (LACC) is full-service social-services agency located in Delaware. The organization was established by a group of young Latinos searching for opportunity in Delaware. They created a community center to provide a safe haven for Latino families and children, both immigrants and non-immigrants. The LACC works with a culturally vibrant and dynamic community that confronts poverty, unemployment, access to healthcare, and the need for all levels of education. Since 1969, the Latin American Community Center has facilitated in addressing the ever changing and growing needs of the community by offering programs and experiences that center on lifelong learning and life empowerment. The organizations mission is to empower the Latino Community through education, advocacy, partnerships and exceptional services.
