An article posted on Law 360 titled, "VMware Hit With $236M Verdict For Willful Infringement," reports on the case Cirba Inc. et al v. VMware, Inc. A Delaware federal jury hit VMware Inc. with a roughly $236 million verdict after finding the company violated two of smaller rival Cirba Inc.'s patents. Over several years, VMware’s products copied more and more features of Cirba’s patents while slowly squeezing them out of the market, requiring Cirba to file the lawsuit to preserve its existence. Cirba was represented by Kenneth L. Dorsney, a partner and Chair of Morris James' Intellectual Property Practice. He focuses on the representation of corporate clients and the interests of outside counsel in a wide variety of complex intellectual property matters. See full article here.
