Partner Rob Gibbs helped Cape Gazette co-founders Dennis Forney and Trish Vernon navigate the transactions necessary to complete the sale of Cape Gazette Newspaper on December 31, 2021. In a coordinated effort to preserve the local and independent ownership of Cape Gazette Newspaper, the co-founders sold the company to longtime employee and co-publisher Chris Rausch.
Cape Gazette Newspaper is a locally owned and operated Delaware community newspaper dedicated to covering Sussex County. The first edition of the Gazette was published on May 28, 1993. Twenty-nine years later, the newspaper publishes every Tuesday and Friday and sells more than 23,000 copies each week.
