we are grateful for the people who have chosen our firm

“Our employees have responded to the events of the previous year with tact, action, and desire to improve both our client service as well as the ways we support the Delaware community,” says Managing Partner Keith Donovan. "Our strict focus on teamwork and collaboration, paired with the continuous support from our clients and community, equip us to continue to deliver exceptional legal services."

We asked our lawyers and professionals to share reflections of gratitude with us this holiday season. Below are some of the responses.

Allyson Britton

I am thankful for our healthy baby boy who arrived seven weeks early on April 5, 2021.  I am extremely grateful for my loving and supportive family, friends, colleagues, and amazing doctors and nurses during my stay in the hospital and Tyler’s time in the NICU.  Our family of six is extremely blessed to have this precious baby boy who is now 7 months old and brings us so much joy.

Jill Di Scuillo

The best moment of 2021 for me – seeing my kiddo after he completed OSUT (one station unit training) at Ft. Leonard Wood. He is a combat engineer with the US Army at Ft. Hood– this is one mama proud of her kid’s life choices.

Keith Donovan

Managing Partner

What made me feel hopeful this year? The young adults in our family confronted challenges, overcame obstacles, excelled in school and their professions, and remained optimistic and idealistic about the future.

Wilson Gualpa

I am thankful for my new puppy Jackson this holiday season. I cherish all of our memories together and can't wait for all of the adventures to come.

Melissa Hetman

Best moment of 2021 for me was having both my kids, my pup, and grandpup with me this Thanksgiving! So grateful that my kids not only love each other, but like each other and are both awesome human beings!

Ross Karsnitz

The Karsnitz family is thankful for this guy.

Best thing that happened in 2021 – Celebrating 30 years of marriage

What did I read this year that added value to my life? Lincoln on the Verge: Thirteen Days to Washington by Ted Widmer. A fascinating account of the journey by train in February of 1861 of Abraham Lincoln from Springfield, Illinois to Washington, DC to become inaugurated as the 16th President.

Sherry Leary

Chief Operating Officer

My best moment this year was marrying my husband, Jason Leary, on May 30, 2021. After searching what seemed a lifetime, I met the man who became my equal, my best friend, and the person I will explore with and grow old with. We also had the honor of our Managing Partner, Keith Donovan, officiate the wedding.

Ian McCauley

In lieu of actual travel, this year I started the Reading the World Challenge – the goal is to read a book from every country.   Thanks to our excellent Delaware public libraries for making this interesting and informative journey possible.

Dennis Schrader

We are thankful for the opportunities given to us to travel and have new adventures together.

Dawn Sheiker

Director of Client Relations

Music was the only thing that got me through the most isolating moments of the pandemic. Seeing Khruangbin live at Firefly Music Festival, I was filled with overwhelming joy and gratitude to experience live music again — specifically guitar solos.

David Soldo

My favorite album of the year was Taylor Swift's evermore.

Jeff Waxman

The best moment of 2021 for me was getting lost in the jungles of Costa Rica. Also, the McRib is back.
